Here's a logo I drew for my cousin's kid, Billy MacTavish, who is now running the Victoria Park Boathouse Bar and Restaurant in Kitchener, Ontario. He wanted to see what this would look like etched/burnt into wood so I quickly mocked this up in Photoshop. I guess this would literally be corporate branding! The "clean" version is here: Thanks for looking!
Looks killer with this background!!
Holy shit man! I'm in Kitchener and on lunch and when it's nice out I go down to Victoria Park; I was gonna say I like the design and the anchor chain is very striking (it is) and blah blah blah but very cool - I'll introduce myself to Billy some time.
Absolutely! It sounds like a cool place.
Looks fantastic! Did he like it?
So much awesome!
That's a pretty sharp logo there.
Did you know Kitchener is the white supremacist capital of Canada? Just watch the documentary "Hearts of Hate". They used to have a pretty cool comic shop there called "Now and Then Books". Apparently it was the oldest running comic book shop in the world. There's also a great music shop called "Encore Records". I used to go there all the time. Dave Sim lives in Kitchener too. Before WWII Kitchener used to be called Berlin or New Berlin; I can't remember which. Canada's largest Oktoberfest festival is celebrated there also. So now you know and knowing is half the battle.
Interesting. They didn't mention any of that in the tourism brochures!
