If you could give it a 5 star rating, that would be HUGELY appreciated! If you don't even own an iPhone/iPod but are willing to pay the 99¢ just to give it a good rating, it would be GIGANTICALLY appreciated! And if you have 100+ watchers and would do a journal entry/review of the game, please contact me with a note and I'll get you a full version absolutely FREE! I guess I'd better limit this offer to the first 10 people who express an interest.

NERDY ARTWORK DETAILS:
These are the actual zombies that pop up during game play. They were all drawn with ink and a sable brush, then scanned, vectorized and coloured in Adobe Illustrator.

THE HISTORY:
Are you too young to recall the "Corpse Uprisings" of the 1950s? It was so traumatic that older relatives may even claim it never happened. The science is complex, but, basically, atomic radiation mixed with toxins from experimental Hula-Hoop plastics, then the unique frequency of "Rock 'n' Roll" vibrated this unstable molecule, creating a substance that raised the dead. The "Former Corpses"*** ate human flesh, so the government created facilities that sold bodies willed to the cause. As teens, your grandparents likely worked at one of these "Diners of the Dead". The plan succeeded and, within a few years, "The Undead" had quietly disintegrated or gone into municipal politics.

*** NOTE: In the '50s, "zombies" meant cadavers reanimated by Voodoo so this new type of beings was officially termed, "Undead". Informal names included, "Casket Dodgers", "Flesh Munchers" or, simply, "Droolers". Such terms are now considered derogatory.

HOW TO PLAY:
PHUNAN GAMES (phunan.com) proudly announces “DINER of the DEAD”, a thrilling and educational iPhone/iPod game commemorating this neglected period of history! Feed the reanimated corpses/customers as fast as you can and don’t let them starve on your premises or the Undead Health Department will shut you down . . . and beware that thieving rat!

Well, yes, some. For a few days we managed to get on the "New and Newsworthy" list that comes up on Apple's first page, and we did great that week but overall I'd hate to calculate what it would work out to per hour. At least it will give me some PayPal cash the wife doesn't know about - and I can blow that all on comics like yours! Heh, heh. Those darn kids don't need shoes anyway! ;)

Ha, ha. yep. I wanted 'em to be zombies but not too far removed from people we see every day - or did see in the 1950s, at least.

Thanks for the watch!

Love it!!! Thees are some great zombie faces, everything looks so well put together, even though you only had rotten dead parts to work with ;P

Honestly I don't own an i phone but this looks like fun and if I did have one I would try it and most likely give it a 10 out of 5. But alas I am strong within the anti cell phone nation.

Luckily I had my family for reference . . . oh, that's not nice!

I actually don't have an iPhone or iPod either so I can't even play the game I worked on. Sigh. I think I will get an iPod Touch one of these days though.

Thanks for the great comments. They are extra meaningful coming from a lowbrow legend like you!

I guess "Legend" makes you sound old - and of course you're not. Let's just say you are definitely an inspiration to an old guy like me who has slacked off for far too long doing corporate brochures, etc. (yawn). From now on it's monsters, zombies, rockabilly babes, barbarians, superheroes, hardboiled private eyes, teenage reefer fiends, skulls, hotrodders, etc.!!!

And, well, probably a few corporate brochures to pay the bills . . . Sigh ;)

 I'm glad I can be an inspiration even though I'm just a whipper snapper when it comes to the art world! I'm excited to see what monsters you dream up :)
