COMIC BOOK SNEAK PEEK: I'm pleased to say I've managed to find time to get back to my comic book trilogy, "Genreville", which has been stalled for 3 years while we made the horror/comedy B-movie "Instruments of Evil". I've pencilled up to page 9 of the second issue, so here's that splash page. It shows the protagonist, P.I. Jack Crandall, and his hunchbacked sidekick, Gior, as they enter "Capetown", the superhero section of the city. It's pretty sloppy but these are just pencils after all.
Capetown looks like an interesting place. I can't wait to see more.
Thanks! I am trying to keep work going on this but I'm getting in a lot of paying jobs in now so that has to take priority ... and that's not a bad thing! I do want to finish "Genreville" within a year or two though.
man i love this sketch panel
YESSSSSS!!!!! After long wait!
Haha. Yeah, it's ridiculous. And now we are getting a lot of good video work in, so I'm not sure when I'll actually have the next issue of Genreville ready. Can't complain about paying jobs though ... well, sometimes I do but I shouldn't! Thanks for your interest.
Man. I have renewed respect for the pencils. Nice. Capetown - funny.
How many more years will I have to wait until the completion? Y'know times running out. After all I've got AIDS. You gave it to me you HIV hustler. Damn you and all my sores!
Ironically, I need a few aides to help me get it done! But, yeah, I know I'm insanely slow and, unfortunately, even though the movie is done now, I need to focus on paying work since filming that mess nearly broke us. In a worst-case scenario, I will leave a copy on your grave.
I thought this WAS ink until I clicked on the picture to make it bigger. Sloppy pencils, my granny!
... and thanks for taking time to check this out!
Haha. Clearly my OCD is working on another level!
Excellent. Looking good.
Thanks, man. I really got get my butt in gear and get this thing done in 2017. All the best for the coming year. Let's hope it's better than many are predicting!
I really liked Genreville Huw - campy and clever and totally worth the money; looking forward to the next installment.
Thank you so much! The plan for now is to have it just be black and white with colour covers. I am so slow as it is, if I coloured the thing I might be dead before it's done! Thanks again.
This looks awesome. So tawdry and fun! I hope we get to see the finished product, or order the finished product!
Thanks! I hope to have the next issue (#2) ready within a year or so (this is spare time project) and I will definitely be pushing it on here when it's ready. Thanks again!
This looks great, Huw! And your "pretty sloppy" pencils look to me like a finished drawing ready to go to print since everything is so clear even at this stage!
